Why run-flats need a specialist fitter
The reinforced sidewall that lets a run-flat carry your car with no air pressure also makes it far harder to mount and demount. Forcing one onto a rim with standard equipment risks damaging the bead, the rim lip and the TPMS sensor. Our machines and techniques are set up for exactly this job, so the tyre goes on cleanly and the sensor comes out unharmed.
Driven on it flat? Read this first
Run-flats are designed to be driven deflated only within strict limits — typically up to around 50 miles at no more than 50 mph, though your handbook has the exact figures. Beyond that, the sidewall structure degrades and the tyre must be replaced rather than repaired. If your run-flat warning has been on for a while, park up and call us: we will bring the correct replacement to you.
Can I replace run-flats with normal tyres?
Sometimes, but not casually. Cars sold on run-flats often have no spare wheel or jack, and mixing run-flat and conventional tyres on the same axle is not acceptable. We will give you straight advice for your specific vehicle, and whichever route you choose, we fit it at your door.

Most manufacturers advise against repairs once a run-flat has been driven on deflated, as internal damage cannot be ruled out. We inspect each case honestly, but replacement is usually the safe answer.
